Maine & New Hampshire  •  Serving families since 2026

We exist for families that the legal system was never designed to help — people navigating arrests, custody battles, protective orders, and the chaos that follows, without the knowledge or resources to find their way through. We provide documentation support, referral coordination, and family navigation so that no one has to face the system alone.

⚖️

The Problem We Solve

When someone is arrested or a family court proceeding begins, the system moves fast and assumes knowledge that most families simply do not have. Hearings are missed. Motions go unfiled. Children lose contact with parents. Families make catastrophic decisions because no one explained what was happening or what their options were. The people most affected are the least equipped to navigate it — and professional legal help is often out of reach.

📋 Case Documentation

We organize the facts, timelines, and evidence that attorneys and courts need — work that most families have no idea how to do and no time to learn.

🧭 System Navigation

We explain what hearings mean, what comes next, and how to communicate with attorneys, courts, and jails — in plain language, when it matters most.

🤝 Peer Support

People who have lived this experience guide others through it. Lived experience is a credential here — and often more trusted than professional credentials alone.

👨‍👩‍👧 Family Community

Families find each other here. Children find peers who understand. The shame that isolates families becomes the connection that sustains them.

👥

Who We Serve

🏛️

Criminal Proceedings

Individuals facing criminal charges who lack adequate legal support and navigation.

👪

Family Court

Families navigating custody, parenting rights, and protective order proceedings.

🌟

Children & Youth

Kids whose parents are incarcerated or in legal proceedings — a community that sees and honors their experience.

The people who understand this experience best are the ones who have lived it. Turning that experience into something that helps others — that is one of the most powerful things a person can do with their hardest chapter.

— The founding vision of Family Justice League

What Makes Us Different

We do not adjudicate guilt or innocence. We do not take political positions. We serve the situation — the human beings inside it — regardless of outcome. We are trauma-informed in our approach, meaning we understand that legal crisis is almost always also a human crisis, and we respond to both. And we are built by people who have been there, which means we know what actually helps.

Join the League

We are building our founding team and advisory council. We are looking for people who share this vision — professionals willing to donate time, families with lived experience to share, community leaders who know what's missing, and anyone who believes that no family should have to navigate this alone.
